Cutting spending won't ruin country
The sky is not falling, in spite of what many politicians are claiming. A less than 3 percent cut in spending will not stop the country dead in its tracks, but it might finally demonstrate a willingness to start to be serious about our debt and out-of-control spending.
We must stop the madness in Washington and save our children's and grandchildren's future, otherwise we will leave to them a country that is broke and an economy that is stagnant with little opportunity for them.
If our leaders do not have the will to put our financial house in order, then I say let the automatic cuts begin. If you look at what has happened in many European countries, you can see where we are heading and I don't want to go there.
By the way there is plenty of blame to cover both Democrats and Republicans for this mess.
Bible condemns homosexuality
In the Feb. 22 edition, Milt Hankins wrote a piece of garbage about what he knows nothing. His knowledge from the Bible is so limited that he can't read what God's word says and understand it, if he would write about what he knows is in there instead of what he wants us to believe it says.
The words homosexual and lesbian aren't in the Bible, however God has condemned it in no uncertain terms.
If he would read the Genesis 19-6 to verse 9, the account of Sodom and Gomorrah plus Leviticus 20-13 and Romans 1- 25 through 32, he would know what God's word says instead of spouting what "he" believes it says. If he has the indwelling spirit he would know and not add to God's word, and His word will never change with the times.
