Wendell S. Reynolds, 73, retired from the position of editor of the editorial page of The Huntington Advertiser in 1972 after 50 years with the paper. He worked as a reporter and telegraph editor before being promoted to city editor in 1924, a position he held for 13 years. He was named managing editor in 1937 and promoted to editorial page editor in 1956.

On Sunday, Jan. 17, 1909, the first edition of The Herald-Dispatch hit the streets in Huntington, and we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of that event in 2009.
