HUNTINGTON -- Wayne offensive lineman Brett Curtis was one of the football players who signed Wednesday with the University of Charleston.
UC also signed Winfield kicker Zack Markham and Gallipolis slot back Chris McCoy.
The Golden Eagles are an NCAA Division II member of the West Virginia Conference.
Curtis was a 6-foot-5, 310-pound all-state performer for Wayne.
UC head coach Tony DeMeo said Curtis is a big, strong offensive tackle with quick feet and a tremendous amount of potential.
Curtis had walk-on offers from some SEC schools, DeMeo said.
Markham, 6-foot, 150 pounds, was the Class AA all-state kicker. DeMeo said he will challenge for playing time.
McCoy was a 5-10, 175-pound all-league and all-district player at Gallipolis.
