Huntington Health Revolution to present $5,700 check to PATH at Fit Fest

Sep. 11, 2011 @ 12:45 PM

HUNTINGTON —  The Huntington Health Revolution will be presenting to check for $5,700, to the Paul Ambrose Trail for Health on Sunday, Sept. 11 during the Opening Ceremony of Fit Fest which will be held at Ritter Park.

The Opening Ceremony begins at 3:30 p.m. The Huntington Health Revolution sponsored a Healthy Day in Huntington to culminate the end of the 90-Day Challenge on Saturday, April 2. The day began with a 5K walk/race and ended with a Healthy Food Festival.

The 90-Day Challenge began on Jan. 2 with the goal of helping people to take small steps to a healthier lifestyle.  There were suggestions each week for an individual to incorporate healthy eating, physical activity, and something for the spirit.

The Healthy Day in Huntington was an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate a healthy lifestyle.  The race was to the public. You did not have to participate in the 90-Day Challenge to walk or run in the race.  Registration for the race was $20.  Net proceeds for the day were designated for the Paul Ambrose Trail for Health.

“We are pleased to be able to make this presentation at Fit Fest,” said Yvonne Jones, director of Ebenezer Medical Outreach, which is a member of the Huntington Health Revolution.
