Whether your planning a summer vacation or a winter escape, there is no shortage of events happening at Myrtle Beach.

Here's a look at few events taking place this summer.

April 1-Oct. 31 -- Grand Strand Fishing Rodeo: Enter your catch in the 2009 Grand Strand Fishing Rodeo - caught from pier, surf, inlet or deep sea - for monthly decals, shoulder patches and prizes totaling over $7,000 in cash and merchandise. A grand prize of $2,000 is awarded at the end of the rodeo. The weigh master, whose name is on the grand prize winner's entry card, receives $200.

June 4-8 -- Sun Fun Festival: The officially kick-off of the summer season. Live entertainment, Kids Zone, food, arts and crafts vendors and much more. Takes place at Grand Park.

4th of July Boat Parade -- Murrells Inlet: Decorated boats sail down the parade route while festival-goers watch from decorated docks and restaurants. Fireworks in the event.

Sept. 4-5 -- Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival: Kids' rides, barbecue competition, car show, boat rides, live music, competitive eating competition and much more.

Summer concerts: The Myrtle Beach area will also feature plenty of concerts throughout the summer. Some of those include, Josh Turner, Oak Ridge Boys, Merle Haggard, Clint Black, George Jones, Jars of Clay, Edwin McCain, The Avett Brothers, Corey Smith, Bret Michaels, Moe and Davisson Brothers Band to name a few.
