SMOKY MOUNTAIN TUNES & TALES, JUNE 12-AUG. 8: Back by popular demand, Gatlinburg's 4th annual run of Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales begins in downtown Gatlinburg on June 12, and will run Friday and Saturday nights until June 26, when it begins nightly performances through Aug. 8. Tunes & Tales is a summer-long street performance event featuring costumed musical performers, storytellers and artisans portraying time periods as far back as 1800.

GATLINBURG SPRING FEST, CONTINUES THROUGH JUNE 7: Various events throughout town.

CIVIL WAR RE-ENACTMENT, JUNE 19-21: The recreation of the "Battle of Burg Hill" highlights this living history exhibition which includes public demonstration and a camp setting with plenty of history and heritage. At Mills Park.

JULY 4: Parade, fireworks, River Raft Regatta.

GATLINBURG CRAFTSMAN FAIR, JULY 17-26: Art, crafts and music lovers can find almost 200 booths featuring some of the nation's finest work. Artisans and craftspeople are on hand to demonstrate their skills, answer questions and offer their unique art for sale. Live Country & Bluegrass entertainment.

SMOKY MOUNTAINS STORYTELLING FESTIVAL, JUNE 4-6: Young storytellers will share the stage with seasoned professionals at this 18th annual event.

3RD ANNUAL SMOKY MOUNTAIN MUSIC AND HERITAGE SERIES, JUNE 5-26: Old Mill Square.

PATRIOT FESTIVAL, JULY 4: Fireworks and much more.

DOLLYWOOD KIDSFEST, JUNE 12-AUG. 2: Dollywood.

STRINGTIME IN THE SMOKIES, AUG. 14-15: StringTime in the Smokies is a celebration of American Music and features an evening of free bluegrass concerts in Patriot Park.

Fireworks light up the night above the Old Mill, a working gristmill in the heart of Pigeon Forge. It was built in 1830 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Flour and cornmeal from the mill are used at two adjacent restaurants.
