Tips for looking for long term care

January 24, 2008 @ 10:11 AM

Midland Meadows is a locally owned and operated assisted living facility. It is not managed as a nursing home by any means. Our residents along with their families work hand in hand with us to develop the best care plan possible. They have the say in how we provide their care, meals, clean their apartment, and provide their laundry services. Teamwork is our specialty here at Midland Meadows as we care for your loved one as we would our own. When your loved one is considering or you are considering for them the option of placement in an assisted living community, there are a few things to consider…..
• Can you visit the community unexpected?
• Can you talk with the staff and residents?
• Visit at meal time, maybe even eat yourself
• The smell, look and feel when you enter the door
• Ask to see the recent state surveys

What sets Midland Meadows aside form the rest you may ask…?The average amount of time spent by an RN in an average assisted living facility is 4+ hours a week, But here at Midland Meadows the RN and Community director (Rosalene Black) spends 40+ hours per week. Our owners work in the community everyday, the ratio of nurses to residents is 1 to 8, and we have what we like to call roam alert. This system allows us to keep our confused residents safe from wondering outside the community.

Rosalene Black has over 17 years of experience and would love to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Please call 304-638-7590
