Movies
Huntington, Pullman Square: Marquee Cinemas' Pullman Square 16, one highlight of the Pullman Square development, offers 16 screens with premium technology. It's located on 3rd Avenue near the Big Sandy Superstore Arena. Call 304-525-7469 and go online at www.marqueecinemas.com.
Huntington, 4th Avenue: The Cinema Theatre, 1023 4th Ave., offers deeply discounted, second-run movie showings. For less than half the price of an average movie ticket, you can enjoy blockbuster movies a few weeks after their premiere dates. The theater has found much success with Friday midnight showings of "Rocky Horror Picture Show." Call 304-525-4440 and go online at www.ourshowtimes.com.
Barboursville, W.Va.: The region's newest theater is Cinemark at the Huntington Mall, offering 12 screens, high-tech equipment and a cafeteria-style concession stand. The mall is easily accessed from Interstate 64 or U.S. 60 in Barboursville.
Teays Valley, W.Va.: Teays Valley Cinemas in Scott Depot is located just off of Interstate 64 as you head east toward Charleston. Call 304-201-7469.
Ashland, Ky.: Movies 10 across from the Ashland Town Center. Call 606-324-3120.
Midtown Cinemas 3: Located in the Midtown Shopping Center. Call 606-326-0340.
Phoenix Theaters: A 10-screen theater at the KYOVA Mall, west of Ashland. Call 606-928-0981.
Drive-ins: There are two drive-in theaters still operating in the Tri-State. Both are just under an hour's drive from Huntington. The Kanauga Drive-In, 1483 Ohio 7 North, Gallipolis, Ohio, shows first-run films and is open on weekends through late fall. Shows start at dark. Call 740-446-1088.
The area's only twin drive-in, Scioto Breeze Drive-In, 9959 U.S. 23, is located about an hour north of Huntington in Lucasville, Ohio. Call 740-259-2881.
