South Point’s Riley advances

SOUTH POINT­, Ohio – Madison Riley from South Point is one step closer to reaching the Ohio High School Girls State Tennis Championships.

Riley finished runner-up in the Division II sectional last week. That earned her a spot in the district tournament Wednesday in Athens.

Riley beat Circleville's Nikki Overly 6-1, 6-0; Unioto's Kayla Houst 6-0, 6-1; Mikhaila Roe of Minford 6-0, 6-1, to reach the semifinals where she lost to No. 2 seed Ali Miller of Portsmouth 6-2, 6-3.
