Lincoln Co. girls take two games

HAMLIN -- Lincoln County swept a doubleheader Saturday, blanking Chapmanville 8-0 in the opener and outscoring Cabell Midland, 9-7, in the nightcap.

Faith Huffman got the win against Chapmanville. She fanned eight. Brooke West and Amy Parsons each had an RBI.

The Knights and Panthers got into a slugfest. Lincoln County (8-2) built a 9-4 lead after five innings and held on.

West, the winning pitcher, had two doubles and drove in three runs.

Morgan Kelley led the Knights with three hits. Two were solo homers and she finished with four RBI. Jenny Brumfield also had a solo homer for Cabell Midland.

Lincoln County returns to action at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Parkersburg South.
