Point Pleasant defeats Winfield with late TD
WINFIELD -- Point Pleasant (4-0) extended its regular season win streak to 15 games Friday with an 18-13 victory over the Winfield Generals.
Point Pleasant quarterback Adam Yates scored on a 28-yard run with 4:02 remaining.
Winfield (2-3) had taken a 13-12 lead with 5:38 to go when Toby Show connected with Jacob Lewis on a 6-yard touchdown pass.
SYMMES VALLEY 62, SOUTHERN 18: The Vikings (4-1) piled up 661 total yards.
D.J. Miller rushed for 192 yards on 14 carries and three touchdowns. Miller also returned a punt 88 yards for a score.
Alec Herrell ran for 146 yards and three scores, including an 82-yard touchdown.
Quinton Bare also picked up 146 yards and scored a touchdown.
TUG VALLEY 18, TOLSIA 14: Tug Valley (4-1) quarterback Mikey Newsome passed for more than 200 yards, ran for a touchdown and made a late interception to thwart a rally attempt by the Rebels.
Dawson Pressley and Brandon Ward scored for Tolsia (2-3).
LUCASVILLE VALLEY 61, SOUTH POINT 19: Will Howard of the Indians (5-0) tossed three touchdown passes and ran for two scores against the Pointers (0-5).
Nate Arnett ran for 82 yards and one score.
PORTSMOUTH WEST 22, CHESAPEAKE 12: Portsmouth West (2-3) rallied from a 12-7 halftime deficit. Justin Crace scored a pair of rushing touchdowns.
Chesapeake quarterback Caleb Lindsey hooked up with Javon Thompson and Chris Lively for touchdown passes of 49 and 16 yards respectively. The Panthers are 1-4.
BUFFALO 57, GILMER COUNTY 0: Buffalo (3-1) quarterback Levi Jordan completed just seven passes but five went for touchdowns in a 327-yard passing performance.
Gabe Garrison had TD receptions of 74, 63 and 24 yards. Laythen Good had scoring catches of 53 and 78 yards.
Gilmer County is 1-4.
NITRO 27, LINCOLN COUNTY 24: Alex White booted a 20-yard field goal in the final seconds for Nitro (2-3). Brayden Underwood ran for two Nitro touchdowns.
The Panthers remain winless at 0-5.
SCOTT 35, POCA 6: Robert Bias of the Skyhawks (5-0) ran for 186 yards and a pair of second-half touchdowns.
T.T. Loudin of the Dots (2-3) rushed for 72 yards. Jake Payne hit Jamie Ellis with a 18-yard touchdown pass.
