Huntington's Way receives honorable mention for lacrosse

HUNTINGTON -- Tanner Way from Huntington High was an honorable mention selection on the All-West Virginia Scholastic Lacrosse Association all-state team.

The Huntington High senior attack position player was joined on the honorable mention list by Hurricane senior midfielder Tyler Sovine and senior defender Josh Ellis.

Way was also picked for the WVSLA All-Star game Saturday in Morgantown along with Highlanders Jake Bauer (So., midfield) and Tre Topping (Jr., goalkeeper).

All-Star selections also included Hurricane players Darion Doering (Fr., attack) ad James Davie (So., midfield).

The all-star game is part of championship day at Mylan Pharmaceuticals Stadium at University High.

Fairmont Senior plays Morgantown for the girls championship at 11 a.m., Saturday, followed by the all-star contest at 1 p.m. University plays Morgantown for the boys championship at 3:30 p.m.
