Fairland girls top Peake

PROCTORVILLE -- Fairland was able to hold on to complete its regular season softball sweep of rival Chesapeake, 5-4 at home Friday.

Chandler Fulks pitched a complete game for the Dragons, while going 2-4 at the plate with a double and two RBI.

Center fielder Chelsey Stanley went 2-3 at the plate for Fairland, and also had a double and drove a run in.

Fairland (14-6) did all of its scoring in the first three innings, getting four runs in the bottom of the third.

HURRICANE 8, HUNTINGTON HIGH 2: Morgan Kinder hit a two-run home run for Huntington High in the bottom of the fourth inning, but it wasn't enough as the Highlanders fell at home to Hurricane, 8-2.

Kinder also pitched a complete game for the Highlanders, while the Redskins got a complete game from Emily Davis.

Hurricane's Nicole Pierson went 2-4 at the plate with a double. Courtney Rogers accomplished the same feat for the Skins, while also knocking in two runs. Rachel Bias was 2-3 at the plate for Huntington High.
