Wayne girls top Spring Valley
WAYNE -- Emily Fry and Jacey Parsons each drove in a run and two more came home on wild pitches, helping Wayne to a 4-3 victory over Spring Valley on Thursday.
The Pioneers (14-4) did all their scoring in the first three innings.
Brooke Phillips knocked in two runs and Elex Robertson one for the Timberwolves.
Wayne pitcher Jessie Rowe allowed six hits and struck out four. Phillips gave up five hits.
Wayne takes on Mingo Central at home Friday in a Cardinal Conference doubleheader.

Parsons finished 3-for-3 with three doubles and three RBIs to lead the Panthers to a mercy-rule shortened win over Logan.
Kayla Jeffers added a double and three RBIs for the Panthers, who moved to 19-6 with the win.

Fairland scored five runs in each of the first and third innings to put things in cruise control.
Josh Ross added a double for the Dragons, who are now 7-5 on the year.
