Cabell Midand gets shot at MSAC crown

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. -- Cabell Midland defeated St. Albans on Monday, 61-43, to secure a spot in the Mountain State Athletic Conference boys basketball championship game.

Cabell Midland (12-6) will play Class AAA top-ranked George Washington (15-0) at 8 p.m., Saturday, in the MSAC Night of Champions at the South Charleston Community Center.

Capital will meet St. Albans in the consolation game at 4 p.m.

Michael Brumfield scored 22 for Cabell Midland. Matt Walker had 14 points and six assists. Matt Riggio added nine points, with six rebounds and three assists.

Sherrod Lacy led the Red Dragons (11-6) with 11 points.

Grace Christian (9-4) was led by Joey Wray with nine points.

Jacob Copley of the Rebels (8-4) had 22 points and 11 rebounds. Mackenzie Martin added 14 points.

Seth Merritt totaled 16 points and Chase Perry 15 for the Pioneers (3-11).
