KENOVA — Police are searching for a man who escaped from police custody today. Kenova Police took Marcle Glenn Jenkins in custody today after two burglaries on Barger Hill overnight. Police say he escaped custody through a window in a police vehicle. He was wearing camouflage pants and a white muscle shirt. He was handcuffed in front of his body.

Player of year Irwin in Classic

HUNTINGTON -- State player of the year Bryant Irwin of Bridgeport is one of the headliners playing June 20 in the North-South All-Star Basketball Classic.

The game is scheduled at the South Charleston Community Center. The three-point shootout and slam dunk contests will begin at 7 p.m. Tip-off for the game will be about 7:45 p.m.

Irwin, a 6-foot-7 forward, led the state in scoring with a 31.0 average. He also averaged 11 rebounds and game and signed with St. Joseph's of the Atlantic 10 Conference.

He will play for the North all-stars.

The South will be led by 6-4 Brett McClanahan of Nitro and 6-2 Malik Witten of Capital.

McClanahan scored 20.7 points per game and signed with Akron. Witten, the Mountain State Athletic Conference player of the year, scored 16.6 points a game.

Woodrow Wilson, the Class AAA state champion, is represented on the South roster by Travis Parkulo and Damien Tunstalle.

The South squad also has Caleb Ashley from Winfield and Adam Scott from Buffalo.

Cory Willard from Class AA state champion Wyoming East is another player for the South.

Coaches for the game are to be announced.
