Timberwolves douse Dragons
ST. ALBANS, W.Va. -- Spring Valley dominated with six touchdowns in the first half Friday and coasted to victory, 41-14, against St. Albans at Crawford Field.
Halfback Colby Webb and quarterback Tyler Brown both rushed for two touchdowns. Webb had TD carries of 17 and 57 yards. Brown scored on runs of 25 yards and 1-yard.
Bryer Brewer also scored on a 13-yard running play.
Spring Valley led at halftime, 41-0, and its reserves played most of the final two periods.
The Timberwolves had 369 yards of total offense including 331 rushing. The Red Dragons had 266 total yards.
Webb led with six rushes for 86 yards while Dylan Lageman ran four times for 56 yards.
St. Albans pitched a shutout in the third quarter and still trailed 41-0.
Leland Brown of the Red Dragons caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Noah Reed on the first snap of the fourth period. The same duo connected on a 27-yard touchdown pass with about nine seconds remaining.
Spring Valley's next game is Friday at Huntington High.
