Point Pleasant pounds Panthers
POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. -- Chase Walton's three touchdowns paced Point Pleasant in a 70-14 pasting of Lincoln County to open the football season Friday night.
Walton caught a 16-yard touchdown pass thrown by Aden Yates to begin the scoring. Walton followed with TD runs of 10 and 29 yards.
Gage Buskirk also caught a Yates touchdown pass and ran for another score.
Cody Mitchell had touchdown runs covering 60 and 26 yards. Mitchell had 108 yards on just five rushing attempts.
Jon Peterson went 16 yards with a fumble for another Big Blacks' score.
Lincoln County's first touchdown of the season came on a Chaz Wiley 59-yard interception return. Also, Jacob Reynolds pulled in a 17-yard touchdown pass from Grant Bates.
The Big Blacks play host to Ripley on Friday and Lincoln County goes to Scott.
