Huntington High boys rout Ripley

HUNTINGTON -- Arick Nicks tossed in 28 points for Huntington High in a 77-39 boys basketball victory over Ripley on Friday. Nicks made 11 of 13 free throws.

Nick Tubbs added 10 points. Chancellor Wooding grabbed seven rebounds and Nicks had six.

Jacob Haynes of the Vikings scored 11.

Huntington High outrebounded Ripley, 36-23, and was aided by the Vikings committing 25 turnovers. Tubbs and Tavian Dunn-Martin both had three steals.

MAN 70, HUNTINGTON ST. JOE 63: Jake Adkins scored 25 and John Keffer added 19 for the Hillbillies.

St. Joe (1-9) got 29 points from Michael Mayes and 17 from Hunter Pratt. Wulf Goheen added 11.

Man outrscored the irish, 22-11, in the fourth quarter.

The Irish play Tuesday at home against 9-0 Buffalo.

LOGAN 64, MORGANTOWN 61: The Logan Wildcats pulled their cardiac act again Friday, coming from 35-24 half time deficit to defeat Morgantown.

Logan was led by Shayna Gore with 25 points, and Kyra Cline who had 15. Logan moves to 5-2 on the season with the win.

FAIRLAND TOURNAMENT: Three girls games are scheduled Saturday in the NAPA Auto Care Centers Hoops Classic at Fairland's Carl York Center.

Huntington High faces Marietta at 5:30 p.m. Athens takes on Chesapeake at 7 p.m. Fairland faces Portswest West at 8:30.

The event features some talented players. Marietta guard Erica Dawson signed with Xavier University. Huntington High's Kiani Evans is headed to Marshall University. Fairland's Terra Stapleton has given a verbal commitment to the University of Minnesota.
