Chesapeake girls fall to Rock Hill

CHESAPEAKE -- Brook Knipp, Katie Johnson and Kaci Russell each scored in double figures to lead Rock Hill past Chesapeake, 57-48, in girls action Monday night.

Knipp led the Redwomen (4-7) with 16 points. Johnson had 14 and Russell 13.

Sydnee Hall paced the Panthers (7-5) with 15 points and Jordan Porter hit for 13.

Chesapeake turned the ball over 21 times and made just 13 of 34 free throws.

Chesapeake's next game is Thursday at Coal Grove.

ROCK HILL 10 15 15 17 -- 57: Travis 2, Blass 1, Simpson 7, Knipp 16, Russell 13, Johnson 14, Butler 4.

FAIRLAND 36, COAL GROVE 31: Terra Stapleton hit for 15 points to lead the Dragons (8-0, 3-0 Ohio Valley Conference) past the Hornets (8-4, 1-2 OVC).

Fairland trailed 27-19 entering the fourth period, then outscored the hosts 17-4 to secure the win.

Darrien Hankins netted 10 points to lead Coal Grove.

Fairland's next game is Thursday at home against South Point.
