Point Pleasant beats Midland in overtime

ONA -- Dillon McCarty was the only Point Pleasant boys player in double figures as the Black Knights knocked off Cabell Midland on the road Saturday night, 65-62, in overtime.

McCarty scored 24 for the Big Blacks.

Cabell Midland was led by Brad Bickford's 15 points. Sawyer Beckett and Niles Dailey both scored 11.

POINT PLEASANT 12 9 10 21 13 -- 65: McCarty 24, Griffin 2, Williamson 5, Aden Yates 13, Wade Martin 13, Alex Somerville 10.

CABELL MIDLAND 12 13 15 12 10 -- 62: Bickford 15, Matthews 2, Petitt 8, Beckett 11, Leonard 8, Dailey 11, Adkins 7.

LINCOLN COUNTY 53, SOUTH POINT 50: T.J. Arbaugh and Andrew Davis recorded double-doubles Saturday for Lincoln County.

Arbaugh scored 21 and pulled down 13 rebounds. Davis had 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Brandon Boggs and Brandon Barnes scored 16 and 11 respectively for the Pointers.

FAIRLAND 75, ROCK HILL 57: Cody Midkiff tallied 24 points and Evan Maddox 23 to power the Dragons (15-4, 8-0 Ohio Valley Conference) past the Redmen on Friday.

Austin Collins had 20 points to top Rock Hill. Joey Stidham chipped in with 16.

Fairland's next game is Tuesday at home against Coal Grove.

Javon Thompson led Chesapeake with 24 points. He got 13 in the third period.

Seann Roberts managed eight points to top River Valley.

PORTSMOUTH 67, GALLIPOLIS 48: Jayllan Carter scored 28 points to lead the Trojans (10-8, 4-4 Southeast Ohio Athletic League) past the Blue Devils (7-13, 3-6 SEOAL) on Senior Night. Ky're Allison added 20 for Portsmouth. Cody Call paced Gallia Academy with 12 points.
