Huntington High girls coach wins award
HUNTINGTON -- Huntington High girls basketball coach Lonnie Lucas is receiving a 2012 West Virginia Coach of the Year award from the National Federation High School Coaches Association.
Lucas will receive the award from the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission at the state tournament March 6-9 in the Charleston Civic Center.
Each year coaches are honored for their outstanding commitment to the athletes of West Virginia.
"Coach Lucas has demonstrated excellence and leadership in the coaching profession," a news release said.
