Midland boys get first win of season

PARKERSBURG -- All five starters for the Knights scored in double figures Friday as Cabell Midland got its first boys basketball victory of the season at Parkersburg, 67-57.

Midland was led by Dustin Scarberry, who had 21 points. Niles Dailey added 13, Dakota Leonard 11, Keegan Adkins 10 and Stephen Matthews 10.

The Knights (1-2) next play Thursday, Dec. 20, at Ripley.

Lincoln County was led by T.J. Arbaugh, who had a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Andrew Davis and Skyler Kelley both scored 12.

The win puts the Panthers at 1-4 on the season.

TOLSIA 74, LINCOLN COUNTY 49: The Rebels forced 42 turnovers on their way to the championship game of the Barbara J. Morrone Key Player Lady Rebel Classic girls basketball tournament at Tolsia.

The Rebels (3-0) play Spring Valley in the finals at 7 p.m., Saturday.

Krista Maynard had 30 points, 12 steals, nine rebounds and nine assists for Tolsia. Ssvannah Winnett had 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Presley had 14 points, 14 steals and eight assists.

Taylor Lucas scored 19 for Lincoln County. The Panthers and PikeView play for third place at 5 p.m., Saturday.

The Timberwolves were led by Madison Morris with 17 points, and Sarah Kelly with 16. Cassidy Lemons added 12.

Spring Valley (2-2) plays Tolsia at 7 p.m., Saturday, in the tournament finals.
