Midland boys rout Winfield

ONA -- Tyler Hayes only had to pitch five innings to get the win for Cabell Midland in baseball Tuesday night.

The Knights (7-5) put up back-to-back five-run innings to defeat Winfield by mercy rule, 10-0, at home.

Hayes also went 2-3 at the plate, with two doubles. Brighton Jobe had a double and an RBI for Midland.

The Generals committed six errors in the contest.

Cabell Midland hosts rival Huntington High Wednesday night.

HUNTINGTON ST. JOE 16, HANNAN 12: Huntington St. Joe outlasted Hannan in a slug-fest Tuesday evening.

Anthony Rabel had a three-run homer for the Irish (5-1) in the bottom of the first, while Stephen Jenkins hit a solo homer and Paul Dransfeld had a two-run shot in the bottom of the fourth.

The Irish play Thursday at home against Tolsia at the YMCA Kennedy Center.
