Fighting Irish boys handle Hillbillies

HUNTINGTON -- Four double-figure scorers and Anthony Rabel's double-double performance led the Huntington St. Joe boys basketball team Friday in a 90-74 victory over the Man Hillbillies.

Keith Clemons topped the Class A second-ranked Irish (17-2) scoring with 24, Brian Conaty added 19 and Payne Meadows had 18.

Rabel scored 16 and controlled 13 rebounds. Conaty finished with nine rebounds.

John Keffer's 25 points led Man.

CHAPMANVILLE 68, WAYNE 42: Josh Butcher fired in 25 points with five 3-point field goals for the Tigers (14-5). Brady Cox had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Brett Justice scored 12 for the Pioneers (10-9).

JOHNSON CENTRAL 84, PRESTONSBURG 43: Marshall Thundering Herd recruit Shane Hall's double-double pefformance led the Golden Eagles on Thursday. Hall posted 10 points and 10 rebounds while blocking two shots.

Kyle Gullett scored 17 and had seven rebounds.

Prestonsburg (13-5) had Dalton Frasure and Jarrin Hall scoring 15 and 11 respectively.

Johnson Central (20-6) plays a Wednesday home game in the 57th District tournament at 6:15 p.m. against an opponent to be determined.
