St. Joe boys beaten by Teays Valley

SCOTT DEPOT, W.Va. -- Elias Beacom fired in 36 points Thursday for Teays Valley Christian in a 96-68 boys basketball victory over Huntington St. Joe.

The Lions (11-3) also had double figures from Ben Parsons (14), Zack Moore (13), Justin Wojcieszak (12) and Sam Montebell (12).

St. Joe (1-11) was led by Michael Mayes with 23 points. Evan Goetz followed with 11 while Wulf Goheen scored 10.

RIVERSIDE 60, CABELL MIDLAND 43: Riverside jumped out to a double-digit lead after one quarter and never looked back in a win over the Knights in MSAC play on Thursday.

Marcus Reed led four Riverside players in double-figures with 14. Tyus Wood added 12 while Tamar Lawson and Nick Light each netted 11.

Dakota Leonard was the only Cabell Midland player in double-figures. He finished with 10 points.

PROCTORVILLE, Ohio -- Fairland remained perfect for the season (9-0) and in the Ohio Valley Conference (4-0) with a 51-27 girls basketball victory Thursday against South Point.

Fairland's defense held the Pointers to 12 points in the final three quarters.

Terra Stapleton led the Dragons with 20 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots. McKenzie Riley had seven points and seven rebounds.

Aundrea Bradburn's 11 points led South Point.

CHESAPEAKE 40: COAL GROVE 39: Jordan Porter's 10th rebound of the night proved to be decisive as she grabbed an offensive rebound and scored on the putback as time expired to give the Panthers an OVC win.

Porter finished with 14 points and was the only double-figure scorer for Chesapeake (8-5).

Ashley Adkins finished with 12 points in the loss for Coal Grove (8-5).

Wayne had double-figure scoring from Taylor Bartram (21), Kaitlyn Arnold (15) and Emily Marsh (10).
