HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS
Letter to the sports editor
To the editor:
While attending the West Virginia High School Volleyball tournament in Charleston, I witnessed an occurence that should be a lesson for all area sports fans. The lesson was respect and sportsmanship, lost arts in today's fast-paced win or nothing world of sports.
During Cabell Midland's first-round match with Musselman, the Spring Valley team cheered and rooted for the Cabell Midland girls. Two bitter rivals, two teams that had locked horns many times throughout the season. The Spring Valley team showed class. They showed sportsmanship. They also earned my respect, because it's easy to see why they are so successful.
