St. Joseph boys top Williamstown, 59-58

ELIZABETH, W.Va. -- Freshman Keith Clemons went coast-to-coast and scored on a layup with nine seconds left to lift Huntington St. Joe to a 59-58 win over Williamstown on Friday in the Wirt County Holiday Tournament.

The Irish (6-0) trailed by six with 2:30 to play before mounting the rally. The Yellowjackets had the ball with 3.2 seconds left, but didn't get off a shot as St. Joe's Brian Conaty stole the inbounds pass.

Clemons led the Irish with 20 points. Iain Clarke added 15.

Gage Win paced Williamstown (3-1) with 19 points and Chandler Webber added 17.

St. Joe will play Roane County in the title game Saturday.

Cody Garett scored 10 for the Bucs (2-3).

The Panthers play Doddridge Co. at 8 p.m. Saturday in the finals.

Jordan Presley added 12 points and Tasha Nichols 10 for Tolsia (2-3).

Sarah Rider netted 17 points to pace Pocahontas County (4-2).

The Rebels will meet host Nicholas County for the title at 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the Summersville Armory. Nicholas County beat James Monroe in first-round action, 48-45.
