South Point wins, improving to 4-0

HAMLIN, W.Va. -- South Point resorted to the running game Friday night and rolled to a 42-22 win over Lincoln County at Lions Club Field.

The Pointers (4-0) matched their win total for the past three seasons combined (2-8, 1-9 and 1-9).

Mason White carried 11 times for 146 yards and three scores. His TD runs covered 44, 36 and 46 yards. James Leonard had 91 yards on four attempts, including a 75-yard TD run in the third period.

Pointers quarterback Gage Townson completed 6 of 12 passes for 137 yards and one TD.

South Point completes non-Ohio Valley Conference play next Friday at unbeaten Valley (4-0).

The Panthers are 0-4.

TOLSIA 34, HERBERT HOOVER 20: Quarterback Blake Rose threw three touchdown passes, including a pair in the final minute, and the Rebels (1-3) downed the Huskies (1-3) for their first win.

Rose found Dawson Presley with a 52-yard TD pass with less than one minute left. The Rebels failed on their try for a two-point conversion.

The Rebels executed an on-side kick and recovered at the Huskies' 44-yard line.

Tolsia moved closer to the end zone and Rose threw a pass that bounced off Brandon Ward's chest and went into Nathan Marshall's hands for a 2-yard touchdown and the victory.

WHEELERSBURG 55, FAIRLAND 32: Eddie Miller III rushed for four touchdowns and passed for three more as the Pirates (4-0) stayed unbeaten.

The teams combined for more than 1,000 total yards at Ed Miller Stadium.

Chance Short of the Dragons (2-2) had a 300-yard passing game and rushed for three scores.

LUCASVILLE VALLEY 27, CHESAPEAKE 7: Nate Arnett had a pair of touchdown runs for Valley (4-0).

Alex Loop and Bryan Rolfe also scored for the Indians.

Chesapeake (0-4) had an 82-yard touchdown run by Chad Meadows.

HURRICANE 41, PRINCETON 21: Austin Hensley and Brandon Ford connected for three touchdown passes in the win for Hurricane (3-1).

Hensley passed for 300 yards and five scores. Ford caught three of the TD passes for 39, 30 and 39 yards and had five receptions for 139 yards.

The Tigers dipped to a 3-2 record.

GREENBRIER WEST 53, BUFFALO 12: Malik Boatwright and Corey Cox combined to rush for 296 yards and four touchdowns for the Cavaliers (4-0), who are rated No. 1 in Class A.

Buffalo slipped to an 0-4 record.

CHAPMANVILLE 34, POCA 31: Austin Berry connected with Jacob Dingess on a 22-yard touchdown pass with one minute to give the 3-1 Tigers the victory.

Justin Stewart had a pair of TD runs for Poca (1-3).

POINT PLEASANT 37, LOGAN 21: Aden Yates of the Big Blacks had three rushing touchdowns.

Cody Mitchell rushed 11 times for 149 yards and Point Pleasant (3-0) limited the Wildcats (3-1) to 94 total yards.

Josh Rein scored twice for Logan -- a 90-yard kickoff return and a 22-yard pass from Noah Corbett.

WAHAMA 60, BELPRE 8: Kane Roush and Colton Neal carried the White Falcons (3-1) past the Golden Eagles (1-3).

Roush rushed for 124 yards and scored five touchdowns. Neal ran for 107 yards and scored two times.

Hunter Bradley took an interception back 93 yards for a touchdown.
