HHS boys dominate Point Pleasant, 8-0

HUNTINGTON -- Austin Preece had two goals and Constantine Svingos had a goal and an assist as Huntington High punished Point Pleasant, 8-0, Thursday night in boys soccer.

Preece started the scoring with an unassisted goal in the sixth minute. John Burdette scored his first goal as a Highlander, as did Sirmon Brown, who headed in a corner kick from Svingos in the 67th minute. Brothers Beau and Max Simpson also struck for the Highlanders, and Will Marshall finished the scoring in the 71st minute.

The Highlanders (12-3-2) held Point Pleasant without a shot on goal or a corner kick in the contest. Huntington High plays Winfield Saturday at noon in Huntington to determine the third place team in the Mountain State Athletic Conference.
