Ironton at Wheelersburg

WHAT TO WATCH:
Ironton: The Fighting Tigers are looking to erase memories of a 39-6 shellacking by Wheelersburg last season. The 2007 season was also just the third non-winning season in the career of coach Bob Lutz.
Wheelersburg: Rob Woodward replaces coach Tony Lewis and has the tall task of facing Lutz in his first game as a head coach.
Portsmouth West at Fairland
WHERE: Dragon Stadium
WHEN: Today, 7:30 p.m.
WHAT TO WATCH:
Portsmouth West: Coming off a 19-13 win over the Dragons last season. The Senators have a lot of size with three running backs at 200 pounds each.
Fairland: Coach Roger Snyder comes back for his second stint with a lot of skill around him. Cole Hatfield and Matt Bloomfield are playmakers.
Chesapeake at Oak Hill
WHERE: Oaks Field
WHEN: Today, 7:30 p.m.

WHAT TO WATCH:
Chesapeake: After a disappointing 2007 season, the Panthers are lacking size but not leadership with QB Aaron Donahoe.
Oak Hill: Jesse Slone and J.D. Hale are players to watch.
South Point at Portsmouth
WHERE: Spartan Stadium
WHEN: Today, 7:30 p.m.
WHAT TO WATCH:
South Point: Jacob Seagraves, Doug Dillon and Ryan Plants make for a solid running tandem.
Portsmouth: Look for mammoth linemen John Prior and Nate Cadogan. At 6-foot-5 and 6-foot-7 respectively, they will be hard to miss.
Coal Grove at Meigs
WHERE: Marauder Stadium
WHEN: Today, 7:30 p.m.
WHAT TO WATCH:
Coal Grove: Frank Delawder and Chris Brammer provide a 1-2 punch from the backfield. Returning seven starters on each side of the ball doesn't hurt, either.
Meigs: The Marauders will look to control the game on the ground.
Zane Trace at Rock Hill
WHERE: Redmen Stadium
WHEN: Today, 7:30 p.m.
WHAT TO WATCH:
Zane Trace: The Pioneers gave up 29 points a game last season and lost four games by a touchdown or less in finishing 2-8.
Rock Hill: Freshman Will McCollister takes over at QB.
Southern at Symmes Valley
WHERE: Viking Stadium
WHEN: Today, 7:30 p.m.
WHAT TO WATCH:
Southern: The Tornadoes' biggest problem in 2007 was scoring.
Symmes Valley: After a disappointing 3-7 finish a year ago, Rusty Webb has an offensive line that averages 285 pounds. He also has tailback Cody Bland.
River Valley at Minford
WHERE: Falcon Field
WHEN: Today, 7:30 p.m.
WHAT TO WATCH:
River Valley: The good news is the Raiders have several skill players returning, But, who will block?
Minford: The mighty Minford Falcons possess a strong, fast defense.
