Pilcher scores two to lead St. Joe past Point Pleasant

POINT PLEASANT -- Hannah Pilcher scored two goals to lead Huntington St. Joe past Point Pleasant, 3-1, in girls action Tuesday night.

Pilcher kicked off the scoring with a goal in the fifth minute off a feed from Hannah Edwards.

Dani Lobo added an unassisted goal in the 27th minute. Pilcher then found the net again on an unassisted tally in the 34th minute to give the Fighting Irish a 3-0 halftime lead.

Marla Knowlin got the Big Blacks on the board with a goal in the 68th minute.

SPRING VALLEY 4, SOUTH CHARLESTON 3: Ty Hall scored a pair of goals for the Timberwolves, including the game-winner in the 71st minute in the season opener for both teams.

Spring Valley jumped out to a 3-1 lead, but the Black Eagles got goals from Robert Foster and Michael Washington just four minutes apart to knot the game before Hall's game-winner.

Evan Bailey and Duncan Waugaman added goals for Spring Valley. Goalkeeper Aaron Dunkle stopped five shots.
