HUNTINGTON -- When Huntington St. Joe seniors Stephen Jenkins, Michael Mayes and Ian Pletka stepped on the baseball field for the Irish as freshmen, they were revitalizing a Class A program that had been dead for five years.
Midland girls top Spring Valley
ONA -- With the score tied 1-1 in the Class AAA, Region IV, Section 4 softball tournament matchup Wednesday night, Cabell Midland coach Jeanne Lunsford had a pointed message for her team.
HUNTINGTON -- Class AAA, Region IV tennis competition gets underway at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Ritter Park Tennis Center, and it will be wall-to-wall matches until about 5 p.m.

There's never a dull matchup when Huntington High and Cabell Midland meet, and Monday's semifinal in the Mountain State Athletic Conference baseball tournament was no exception.
Wayne shuts out Mingo Central, 10-0, to advance
Kasey Endicott launched a high fly to left field, and as she raced toward first base, she saw coach Tish Smith smile. That meant the ball had cleared the fence for a solo home run.
Madison Howell and Rachel Bias hit home runs for Huntington High in a 4-0 softball victory at Chesapeake.
