Daniel dismisses Shaw, Johnson from MU team
HUNTINGTON -- Marshall University women's basketball players Jasmine Shaw and Shynisha Johnson were dismissed from the team.
"Jasmine Shaw and Shynisha Johnson have been dismissed from the women's basketball program due to a violation of team rules and policies," Marshall head coach Matt Daniel said in a release. "This will be our last comment on the subject."
Shaw, a 5-foot-7 junior, averaged 6.0 points and 3.0 rebounds as a starting player in the first two games of the season. Last season she started three of 29 games. She averaged 6.0 points and 2.4 rebounds.
The 5-5 Johnson is a senior averaging 2.0 points this season. She appeared in 24 games last season, averaging 4.0 points.
Both players are from Cincinnati and played at Winton Woods High School.
