July 16, 2008 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Tamar Slay is getting another NBA look.

Slay, a former Marshall University player who spent three seasons in the league, is with the summer league team of the Golden State Warriors.

The 28-year-old from Beckley averaged 7.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in Golden State's first two games of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. He had 10 points and four steals against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Golden State played Tuesday night against the Charlotte Bobcats. The Warriors play again Friday against the Sacramento Kings and Saturday against the Toronto Raptors.

All games in Las Vegas are webcast on NBA.com and some are on NBA TV. Check the schedule at www.nba.com.

The Warriors will play four more games at the Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City that begins Friday.

NBA summer league rosters are filled with lottery picks, young veterans and free agents trying to earn a roster spot.

O.J. Mayo of Huntington is a first-round draft pick averaging 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists after four games with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Joe Alexander, a first-round draftee of the Milwaukee Bucks, scored seven in his summer debut.

The NBA Summer League has squads representing 21 teams playing through Sunday at COX Pavilion and the Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV.

Eight NBA teams will play in the Rocky Mountain Revue at Salt Lake Community College from Friday to July 25.

Slay completed his Marshall career (1998-2002) as the sixth-leading scorer in school history with 1,792 points. He is the all-time leader in three-point goals (251) and three-point attempts (650).

He was an NBA Draft second round selection of the New Jersey Nets and played in 66 games in three seasons with the New Jersey and Charlotte franchises. His NBA career averages are 2.6 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.5 assists.

The 6-foot-8 guard and forward played last season in the Italian League for Pierrel Capo d'Orlando.
