HUNTINGTON -- Darius Watts is going to the Arena Bowl.

The former Marshall University receiver plays in the Arena Football League for the Philadelphia Soul (15-3) who face the defending champion San Jose SaberCats (13-5) in Arena Bowl XXII on July 27 in New Orleans.

Philadelphia, co-owned by rock music star Jon Bon Jovi, defeated the Cleveland Gladiators for the National Conference championship.

Soul fullback Wes Ours played at West Virginia University.

Watts, 26, appeared in six games this season. He was listed as probable because of ankle injury for the conference championship game, but didn't play. He last appeared in a game May 2.

He has 38 receptions for 376 yards and five touchdowns.

Watts has NFL playing experience with the Denver Broncos and New York Giants.

In four seasons at Marshall (2000-03) he had 272 receptions for 4,031 yards and 47 touchdowns.

The Atlanta, Ga., native was a three-time All Mid-American Conference first team selection.
