HUNTINGTON — Marshall volleyball gets the home portion of its 2013 season underway on Tuesday evening with a 7 p.m. match against East Tennessee State.

To date, the Herd is 2-6 on the season after ending the UIC Invitational with a 3-1 win over Chicago State.

In that match, Sacha Byous-McConnell finished with 15 kills and a hitting percentage of .789 en route to being named to the all-tournament team.

Freshman Cassie Weaver, a former Cabell Midland standout, also had nine kills and 13 digs in the final match.

The match with East Tennessee State starts a full week of home volleyball for the Herd, who hosts the Thunder Invitational at Cam Henderson Center this weekend.

Southern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky and Kent State will be the teams participating in this weekend’s tournament.
