Thundering Herd Madness set Oct. 12
HUNTINGTON -- Thundering Herd Madness marking the official beginning of college basketball practice is set for Friday, Oct. 12, in Cam Henderson Center.
Herd Madness is a Tip-Off Club fundraiser and all tickets are $5. Marshall students can get in free by presenting a vaiid student ID. The student entrance is on the upper concourse level on the south side.
Tickets can be purchased by calling 800-THE-HERD or by going online to HerdZone.com.
Anyone with a ticket to Thundering Herd Madness gets free admission to Marshall playing Rice in volleyball at 5:30 p.m.
Arena gates will open at 7 p.m. Marshall third-season head coach Tom Herrion will introduce the team to begin the event at 8 p.m. The rest of the night will consist of a two-ball competition, slam dunk contest and a 20-minute scrimmage.
A Select-A Seat promotion for season ticket sales will begin at 4:30 p.m.
First-season Marshall women's coach Matt Daniel will introduce his squad.
The event will also feature some spectator competitions where fans can win season tickets, $500 worth of gasoline, a Marshall basketball gift package and cash.
Upon the completion of the approximately 75-minute event, fans can get autographs from players and coaches. A special Marshall basketball promotional item will be distributed at the event for all fans.
