SUMMIT, Ky. — It’s UK vs. MU on the basketball court.
University of Kentucky men’s basketball alumni players are on their annual barnstorming tour with stops at several Kentucky high schools. Thursday night they’re at Boyd County Middle School for a game against former Marshall University players.
Admission to the 7 p.m. Thursday game is $10. A portion of the proceeds will got to area AAU teams.
Ramel Bradley and Joe Crawford, the UK seniors last season, are expected to play along with Bobby Perry and Lukasz Obrzut. Players might change at each stop.
Bradley answered a challenge last week when the UK team played at Perry County Central High School in Hazard, Ky., after being told former Wildcat Patrick Sparks had 70 points in a game there a few years ago. Bradley scored 102 in a 142-90 victory against the 14th Region All-Stars, a report by Lexington television station WKYT said.
Marshall is expected to field an alumni team that includes Mark Dorris, Jean Francois Bro Grebe, Travis Aikens, J.R. VanHoose, Joda Burgess and player/coach Frank Martin.
The game is 10-minute quarters with a running clock.
During breaks in the game the UK players will participate in a skills challenge and three-point shootout with youngsters in the crowd.
