Marshall signs Ky. swimmer

Nov. 29, 2012 @ 12:03 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Leslie "Teel" Hartmann from Louisville, Ky., signed to swim at Marshall University.

Hartmann attends Ballard High School and competes for the Lakeside Seahawks Swim Team.

Marshall head coach Bill Tramel said she has posted times that would score in multiple events at the Conference USA championships. Hartmann specializes in the individual medley where her best time in the 400-yard IM would have made the C-USA finals last year.

"Teel will be the third Lakeside swimmer I will coach in my career," Travel said. "(Head coach) Mike DeBoer does an exceptional job at Lakeside. Their team produced their 10th Olympian this past summer. Lakeside is known for having dedicated athletes who understand what it takes to reach their full potential.

"That is why we targeted Teel."
