Area girls play softball and more with Thundering Herd

HUNTINGTON -- Marshall Thundering Herd softball hosted the first of its three summer camps for young players this week at Dot Hicks Field.

Tuesday's session of the All Skills Camp for players in grades one to eight focused on hitting, base running and the short game.

A Player Scrimmage Camp (grades eight to 12) is July 17 and a Hitting Camp is set for July 23, July 30, Aug. 6 and Aug. 13.

Camps are directed by Marshall head coach Shonda Stanton, former assistant coach Amanda Williams and Herd players.
