Williamson's 16 strikeouts vs. Ohio set school record
HUNTINGTON -- Marshall University senior Andi Williamson had a record-setting pitching performance Wednesday in a softball doubleheader sweep at Ohio University.
Marshall (28-17) won the games, 4-0 and 3-2.
Williamson struck out 16 hitters in game one, surpassing the school record of 14 she set March 31, 2012, against Quinnipiac.
She struck out 12 in game two and her total of 300 for the season is a school record. Sara Gulla was the previous record holder with 270.
Williamson also set a Thundering Herd mark with her 26th victory of the season. She set the record with 25 in the 2012 season.
Marshall is idle until an April 27 doubleheader at UAB.
