Players commit to Herd football
HUNTINGTON — Georgia high school running back Keion Davis and Florida high school defensive tackle Ja’ree Tolbert are Marshall University’s latest football verbal commitment in the Class of 2014.
Davis, 6-foot, 175 pounds, is from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Ga., where he had 197 carries for 1,068 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior.
Tolbert, 6-2, 270, plays at Miami Springs High School.
Also, Chad Garrett from Butler High School in Matthews, N.C., has accepted a non-scholarship, walk-on position with the Thundering Herd. Garrett is a 6-foot, 190-pound long snapper who has been part of two North Carolina Class 4AA state championships and was invited to the U.S. Army All-American Combine.
