Offense: Darius Passmore, wide receiver
Along with a playmaking defense, Passmore's execution from the unveiled Tiger formation proved the difference. Passmore rushed for 42 yards on eight carries and added 71 yards on three receptions.
Defense: Maurice Kitchens, linebacker
Marshall's senior man in the middle flipped the game's momentum, recovering a first and goal Houston fumble and returning 80 yards to set up a Marshall touchdown. He also intercepted a Case Keenum pass and sacked the Cougars quarterback.
Special Team: Craig Ratanamorn, kicker
The junior enjoyed a bounceback performance, connecting on field goals of 28, 25 and 36 yards.
