Former Midland player helps UK top Marshall

HUNTINGTON -- University of Kentucky sophomore Stephanie Fox, a Cabell Midand High School graduate, helped the Wildcats defeat the Marshall University women's tennis team, 5-2, in a Friday match in the Huntington Tennis Club.

Fox won in No. 6 singles, defeating Kara Kucin, 6-1, 6-3.

Marshall (2-2) took the doubles point with victories from Dominika Zaprazna/Maria Voscekova and Karlyn Timko/Dana Oppinger.

Voscekova also won in singles, 6-1, 6-2, against Edmee Morin-Kougouch of the Wildcats (3-0).

Marshall returns to the courts at 10 a.m., Sunday, against No. 51 Indiana.
