Herd falls to Duquesne

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Duquesne University edged the Marshall Thundering Herd, 138-124, in a women's swim meet Saturday.

Marshall won eight of the 14 events.

Multiple winners for Marshall were Kacey Preun, Sarah Kay and Danica Ross.

Preun won the 1,000 freestyle (10:29.38) and the 200 breaststroke (2:25.21), Kay was first in the 200 butterfly (2:05.28) and the 100 butterfly (58.60) and Ross won the 200 freestyle (1:56.20) and the 100 freestyle (53.22).

Kaley Gregory was first in the 500 freestyle (5:10.25).

Marshall won the 400 medley relay with Kelsey Ferguson, Madison Lawhorn, Kay and Lauren Hurd posting a season-best time of 4:00.86.

The Herd's next meet is Feb. 20-23, the Conference USA Championships in Houston.
