DALLAS -- Conference USA leader SMU goes after its 10th consecutive women's basketball victory Sunday against Marshall University in Moody Coliseum.

SMU (17-4 season, 8-0 conference) is receiving votes in The Associated Press and USA TODAY Coaches polls. Marshall has a 7-14 season record and sits last in C-USA at 1-7.

It took three overtimes, but SMU extended its win streak to nine games Thursday at home with a 94-92 win over UTEP. Keena Mays made a jump shot from the lane with one second left. Mays netted 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

The 5-foot-7 junior guard leads the Mustangs with a 20.6 scoring average.

Mays is a University of Kansas transfer who has played in just 13 games for the Mustangs and would be the C-USA leader in scoring and 3-point field goal percentage (43.0) if she met the minimum amount of games to be listed.

SMU senior guard Alisha Filmore and 6-foot junior forward Akil Simpson average 12.4 and 10.3 points respectively. Simpson pulls down 7.8 rebounds per game and Mays gets 6.2.

The Mustangs lead the conference with 70.6 points a game. Marshall is last in conference scoring (54.9).

UCF bottled up Marshall, 67-52, on Thursday in Orlando.

Shay Weaver of the Herd, the team leader with a 9.6 scoring average, had two points on 1-for-6 shooting. Chukwuka Ezeigbo, who averages 8.3 per game, scored four. Erica Woods led the Herd with 20 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Suporia Dickens added 15 points.

Marshall committed 25 turnovers in the loss.

Weaver is ranked second in the conference for 3-point baskets made per game with 2.4. Ezeigbo ranks second in field goal percentage at 52.6.

Ezeibgo leads Marshall with 6.3 rebounds a game.
