Softball team hosts invitational tourney

HUNTINGTON -- Marshall Invitational softball games are on the weekend schedule at Dot Hicks Field.

Marshall (6-9) is hosting Buffalo (2-7), Robert Morris (4-2) and Eastern Illinois (4-4) for games Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Tournament schedule:

FRIDAY

Robert Morris vs. Eastern Illinois, 10 a.m.

Buffalo at Marshall, 12:30 p.m.

Robert Morris at Marshall, 3 p.m.

SATURDAY

Robert Morris vs. Buffalo, 9 a.m.

Eastern Illinois vs. Robert Morris, 11 a.m.

Buffalo at Marshall, 1 p.m.

Eastern Illinois at Marshall, 3 p.m.

SUNDAY

Buffalo vs. Eastern Illinois, 10 a.m.

Eastern Illinois at Marshall, 12:30 p.m.

Robert Morris at Marshall, 3 p.m.

TENNIS

HUNTINGTON -- Karlyn Timko leads Marshall into a 4 p.m., Friday, women's tennis match against UNC Greensboro in the Huntington Tennis Club.

Timko has a 6-3 singles record including a 4-1 mark in the No. 6 position. Timko and dana Oppinger are 6-3 in doubles.

Marshall is also hosting Old Dominion at 10 a.m., Sunday.

BASEBALL

HUNTINGTON -- Marshall is on the road for three baseball games in Spartanburg, S.C.

Marshall (3-3) and USC Upstate (5-2) meet in a 4 p.m., Friday, game at Cleveland S. Hartley Baseball Park.

A Saturday doubleheader against Wofford (4-4) will be played at Russell C. King Field with games at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The Thundering Herd and USC Upstate also play at 1 p.m., Sunday.
