Marshall hosts swim meet this weekend
HUNTINGTON -- Marshall Thundering Herd women's swimming is hosting the West Virginia State Games to open the season.
The two-day competition Friday and Saturday in Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium at Cam Henderson Center features all West Virginia schools that have women's and men's swimming and diving teams.
West Virginia University women's and men's team won the inaugural meet in 2011.
Marshall, with first-year head coach Bill Tramel, is joined for the met by WVU, Davis and Elkins, Fairmont State, WVU Tech, West virginia Wesleyan and Wheeling Jesuit
Friday events begin at 4 p.m. Saturday will have sessions at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Some of Marshall's top performers include sophomore Kacey Preun, senior diver Lauren Rone, junior Sarah Kay and junior Madison Lawhorn.
