Volleyball team on road at Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Marshall's Thundering Herd is looking to end a five-game losing skid Friday in an 8 p.m. Conference USA volleyball match against the Memphis Tigers in Elma Roane Fieldhouse.

Marshall (16-10, 6-6 C-USA) is led by Laura Der who is ranked 24th nationally with 4.32 kills per set and 25th in the nation with 4.88 points per set.

Der is a junior from Clarksville, Ind.

Memphis senior Altrese Hawkins had 1,732 career kills, 57 shy of the school record.
